This week is a blessed one: our country has been elected as the host of the World Cup.
We're looking forward to 2018 and saving money for tickets.
Go, Russia!

I think this is a new political game
On the one hand, I`m glad to know that one of the most interesting and wonderful events will take place in our country. On the other hand, I don’t` want even to think about this silly and dirty business. Just another sinecure...
Maybe new sport centers, new schools and new science centers are more needed in this country? I don`t believe that the World Cup will make our social sphere better and more developed ...
But it sounds wonderful in any case
But reading this… what is it? A script? A translation? Or what is it?... reading this I`m really sorry about our culture level. If it`s not a joke, this text shows the futile efforts to cover up the lack of education. 1 misused article. It`s unbelievable that the head of the big company working in the international field can`t read in English. Shame on us

I think that's so typical: they're stealing billions and don't even bother to buy an English teacher.
Or they're doing it on purpose, to keep the image of a funny, nice-looking native that can be gifted with a golden ring by a white man just for having made him laugh.

I think the letter is a joke, it can't be serious because it is a shame to send it to FIFA. They may change their decision. :-D But maybe it will be better. Because we want to be ahead, to be closer to other developed countries (it's a great wish), but we are paying unreasonable price to this. 1 missing article We invest a lot of money into the new sport project's building but forget about that this money is increasing budgeted deficit of our country which is patching up for our entrepreneurs and their tax amounts. 1 missing article; 1 weird verb form We are destroying business especially the high level's taх (particularly 34% payroll tax). When our business owners will come to ruin, maybe then we won't take a part in that level competition. a missing preposition

Let's see how they will conduct Winter Olympic Games in Sochi! It's great that it won't be in Moscow!

As for the letter: I'm sorry for not having explained anything, but I thought everybody has seen Mr. Mutko's now famous speech on YouTube.
Of course, nobody sent this to FIFA, but it seems to be the original script used by our minister of sports.

It's so bad it's good. If you follow the gibberish closely, you'll notice there is some bad grammar as well, such as "Let's me speak" or "a nationally priority". A truly outstanding performance.

Certainly not. Talk to me about an island in the Caribbean though, I'm listening.

The reason episodes like that throw me for a complete loop is, I can't quite buy it: ok, idiocy droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven, granted. But hey, that's stretching credibility a shade too far. What, no one noticed or cared it was gibberish?
